Despite what might have seemed like a less than typical/expected domestic response to MIB3 last summer (it made about $260 million less than the first; and about $100 million less than the second - adjusted for inflation), the film still managed a worldwide gross of over $624 million! Keeping inline with the changing times, the bulk of its box office (more than 70%) came from overseas. It helps when you have an international superstar like Will Smith, and a known brand. So maybe then it shouldn't be a surprise that a 4th Men In Black movie has be greenlit by Sony Pictures, with Oren Uziel (a relative newbie, according to his IMDB page) tapped to pen the script. Said to be in its early...

[view whole blog postIt's usually a 60-minute show, but OWN announces this afternoon that the Jason Collins episode of Oprah's Next Chapter, which airs this Sunday, May 5, has been expanded to a 90-minute episode - from 7:30-9:00 p.m. ET/PT. Oprah Winfrey will speak with NBA player Jason Collins, his twin brother Jarron and family for their first interview together on the heels of Collins' public *coming out*. Something tells me this will be a ratings coup for OWN. We'll find out on Monday when the numbers are released. Below, watch an excerpt from the interview:
[view whole blog postAccording to Box Office Mojo, The Weinstein Company has moved up the release date for Fruitvale Station by 2 weeks, from the previously-announced July 26 to July 12. This is the second shift, because you might recall that it was original set to debut on October 18, before TWC moved it up by about 3 months, to July 26. No word on the reason for the movie. It has more competition on the July 12 date (Grown Ups 2, Pacific Rim, and 4 other indie films scheduled for release that weekend) than it did on the July 26 date (The Wolverine, and 1 indie), so it's an interesting move - on that I'm sure TWC has very good reasons for making. And secondly, Sony/Screen Gems has moved the...

Scott Haran stars in the lead role as 16-year-old Tom Clark, a teenager in a family of wizards. So from the show's title, you can pretty much guess what he'll be doing in the 12-episode series. Percelle Ascott plays his best friend, Benny Sherwood. Benny's parents on the show are played by British TV vets Don Gilet and Nina Sosanya. The Hub will first air Wizards vs. Aliens' two-part opener at 7PM on June 1; subsequent episodes will follow every Saturday at 7:30PM.
