Today John Bolton, former U.N. ambassador under George W. Bush, said that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's trip to Australia is "very important" and necessary, undercutting attacks from conservative news outlets such as Fox News and Drudge that Clinton is vacationing Australia rather than testifying in front of a congressional committee about the Benghazi attacks. [...]

During a press conference today, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) made it clear why he will oppose U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice becoming Secretary of State: the war in Iraq. During the press conference, Graham and fellow Republican senators John McCain and Kelly Ayotte called for a Select Committee to investigate the attack on [...]

President Obama came out with guns blazing at today's news conference, his first since re-election, pushing back hard against Republican senators' disparaging remarks about U.N. ambassador Susan Rice, Washington's odds-on favorite to get the nod as America's next secretary of state.

The president may indeed be genuinely outraged that one of his reportedly closest advisors is taking heat for the Sept. 11 snafu in Benghazi -- a situation Rice had nothing to do with. He repeated the administration's claim that when Rice took to the airwaves on Sept. 16 to explain the events in Libya, she was merely working with what the intelligence community had given her. And as far as we know, that's precisely what happened. (Benghazi isn't really the reason senators are objecting to Rice anyway, but that's ...

President Obama has yet to nominate anyone to succeed Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State, but Republicans are already lining up in opposition to potential replacement U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, citing her complicity in the administration's alleged failures in responding to the attacks in Benghazi, Libya. On Wednesday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) promised to filibuster [...]

Today during his White House press conference, President Obama scolded Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and other Republicans for attacking America's U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice regarding intelligence on the attacks on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi. McCain said today that he and his Republican allies would do anything they can to prevent Rice from becoming [...]

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) managed this morning to both defend President Obama's right to nominate Cabinet members and categorically ban the President from putting forward U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice to become Secretary of State. In discussions on Fox News this morning, McCain refused to say whether he would join the movement to [...]

With Secretary of State Hillary Clinton leaving the State Department, speculation around who will become America's top diplomat continues. News outlets are now reporting that Susan Rice, America's ambassador to the United Nations, is likely to be nominated for the position. Rice is will assuredly face stiff resistance from Congressional Republicans who are have criticized [...]

For four decades, the border that Israel shares with its most vocal foe -- Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime -- has also been its quietest. But now, that seems to be changing.

A mortar shell fired from Syria hit an Israeli military post on on the Golan Heights on Sunday, prompting the Israel Defense Forces to fire a guided missile at the Syrian mortar crew responsible for the attack. On Monday, events repeated themselves -- a mortar shell fell on Israel-controlled territory, prompting the Israel Defense Forces to retaliate. The exchange of fire occurs at the same time as a fresh outbreak of violence to the south, where Gaza-based militants have fired over 120 rockets into Israel.

So here is a bizarre twist in the David Petraeus resignation saga.

Paula Broadwell, the biographer revealed as the woman having a secret affair with the now-former CIA director, gave a talk at the University of Denver on Oct. 26 in which she appeared to reveal sensitive, maybe even classified, information about the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.

Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) promised to block anyone President Obama appointed to lead the Department of State -- especially current U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice -- if they were at all involved with the handling of the attack on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, Libya. Speaking on CBS' Face the Nation, Graham called the consulate "a [...]
