Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood picks presidential candidate

The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt has nominated its candidate for the country's presidential election in May. The Brotherhood chose the party's financier Khairat al-Shatir to run for the presidency, despite earlier pledging not to field a candidate in the election. Meanwhile both liberals and more radical islamists are worried the party could wield too much power in the country.
