DeMint Will Resign From Senate To Lead The Heritage Foundation

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) has announced that he will leave his Senate seat in January to lead the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank in Washington D.C. Governor Nikki Haley (R-SC) will name a successor to fill DeMint's Senate seat, who will face a special election in 2014.
