Scotland: " And anarchy smiles in the Royal Mile "

From Hamish In Auckland Tue Jul 1 2014, 09:25:00

The Guardian reports.

Disclosure: I am Scottish by birth but I am far removed from there and have been since childhood. My last visit to Scotland was about six or seven years ago and resulted in several accusations of being an Australian ( we sound totally different ) followed by an explanation that I was a Kiwi. The other tangible result was a picture taken outside my first home in Edinburgh that I use on my Blogger profile.

My sister wouldn't allow me to knock on the door and introduce myself to the current residents so I have no recovered memory  of the interior of the house I spent my infancy in and my only memories of Scotland then are of Dundee, or more specifically Monifieth. They are many.....and from a long time ago.
