It really shouldn't be much of a surprise. It seems like a natural progression; every online social media/media sharing site will likely get into the VOD game. And Vimeo is one of the biggies, so why not? Especially since YouTube has been doing this for sometime now. I wonder if the films will always be hand-picked by the staff, as they already do with existing front-page Vimeo videos (staff picks)... that kind of curation, if you will, is an aspect that could distinguish them.
