Israel - Gaza: Who will stop the violence?

Even though Egypt's new president hails from the same Muslim Brotherhood as Hamas, it's still all eyes on Cairo to prevent an escalation of the military operations between Israel and Gaza. But is it Hamas that has leverage over Egyptian authorities or the other way around?
