A Fashion Film Festival Launches In San Francisco Run By Black Women

A niche film festival like this is one way to go. And even more interesting to us here at S&A is that 2 of its 3 founders/directors of the young festival are young black women. Meet Adelle McElveen, Kimara Mitchell Stokes, and Annie Wilson, founders/directors of The San Francisco Fashion Film Festival, which held its inaugural event last April, less than a year ago. The first installment of the 2-day festival was held in 2012 at the oldest continuously operating movie theater in San Francisco, the Roxie Theatre (opened in 1909), promising to offer a new take on what it means to be stylish in the cinema.
