Intimations of Kinshasa Symphony. Bright Brass a film about resourcefulness and creativity:

Bright Brass is a short film constructed in the form of a sound slide about a major issue in many African cities- street kids. In the Democratic Republic of Congo's capital Kinshasa, where the film takes place, there are between 25,000 to 40,000 street kids who suddenly found themselves facing life alone due to various reasons, as we're shown.

Displacement has severely harmed the growth of many African nations and most importantly robbed many children of a descent life. In the film we see young faces but hear the voices of adults. The Democratic Republic of Congo is known for rich resources and infamous for war. With the brutality taking place many children are left to live alone or be thrown around by the war as a solider. Each story mentioned in the short film has an inspiring uplift, a positive outlook on the direction some children are taking for themselves. The brass band allows the children to not only find an artistic outlet to their fears and rage but provides them with hope and a beat to march to mental freedom.
