[view whole blog postSince tomorrow is supposed to be the end of the world, according to the Mayan calendar, what's more appropriate than this just-released trailer for the comedy film, This is The End, scheduled to come out next summer, on June 14th?. Provided we're still around... The film is definitely a low budget, home made affair directed by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen who stars in the film, along with a bunch of his buddies, including James Franco, Jonah Hill, Danny McBride, Michael Cera, Jason Segel, Emma Watson and Craig Robinson. Being the single black guy in the film, no doubt there are certain to be jokes about if he'll make through the end of the film or...

[view whole blog postHah! And I actually like this one better than the first one, which didn't do much for me at all! This is just silly, but a good kind of silly! I laughed when I first looked at it, so, mission, in-part, accomplished!I I missed an early promo screening of it here in NYC a couple of weeks ago; but thankfully, Sergio previously saw it at a Chicago screening, and he loved its irreverent humor. Thus far, I've heard nothing but good things from all those who've seen it (and from a variety of tastes), so Marlon Wayans just might have a sleeper hit on his hands in early 2013. From the red-band trailer below, it looks like adult fun! Recapping... Marlon...

This holiday season, the Darfur Dream Team Sister Schools Program, or DDT, is celebrating our biggest accomplishment this year! Following DDT Manager Buky Williams' recent trip to the refugee camps in eastern Chad, DDT has released its latest progress report on the funds implemented in Goz Amer.
From 2011-2012, the U.N. Refugee Agency, or UNHCR, implemented $200,000 that was raised by schools, major donors, and supporters throughout the United States for primary education in Goz Amer refugee camp. Decisions regarding the use of these funds were based on a needs assessment carried out by UNHCR, implementing partners, and the refugees themselves. The funds improved the quality of education in Goz Amer schools by rehabilitating classrooms, providing schools supplies, improving teachers' ...

[view whole blog postThe top commander of the South Sudan army's controversial disarmament campaign in Jonglei state recently announced a shift in the strategy for dealing with the most troublesome challenge to their "Operation Restore Hope"-the David Yau Yau rebellion in Pibor. The SPLA will now "launch aggressive attacks" against the rebels, said Lt. Gen. Kuol Deim Kuol, effectively ending what the SPLA previous said was its plan to only assume defensive positions to allow the necessary space for an initiative that saw local elders travel to their communities to convince the population not to join Yau Yau or to be in possession of guns.
Those local efforts were having limited results, the Enough Project found during recent field research in Pibor, presented in a new report published this week. In September, ...
