Le français est une langue précise. Les mots sont donc importants d'autant que depuis le discours de Dakar de Nicolas Sarkozy, des esprits vifs s'échauffent pour un rien. Surtout quand on parle d'une histoire dans laquelle une frange entière de l'humanité ne serait pas assez... entrée.

Aussi, quand le professeur émérite Catherine Coquery-Vidrovitch intitule son ouvrage Petite histoire de l'Afrique subsaharienne, la qualification « petite » va faire l'objet d'une surveillance particulière du lecteur que je suis. On pourra arguer qu'en un peu plus de 200 pages, la présentation de l'histoire des peuples subsahariens - et pour ne pas nous voiler la face, des peuples « noirs » - ne peut faire l'objet ...
